INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION 2025
The much-awaited Interhouse Debate Competition was held at St. Patrick’s Junior College, showcasing the fiery wit, eloquence, and confidence of the Patricians. The event was divided into Junior and Senior categories, with thought-provoking topics that tested not just logic, but also perspective.
The programme was judged by an esteemed panel of judges including Ma'am Vinny Khandelwal and Ma'am Jeniffer Stephen.
For the Junior Category, the motion of the debate was “Discipline is more important than freedom.” The young debaters presented their arguments with clarity and conviction. Adamya Sharma from Blue House emerged as the Best Speaker for the Motion, while Naisha Magan from Green House was awarded Best Speaker Against the Motion, both impressing the judges with their poise and persuasive delivery.
In the Senior Category, the debaters locked horns on the topic “The feeling of rejection is influenced more by society than by self-perception.” The arguments were powerful, insightful, and fiercely competitive. Chhanak Ambesh (Blue House) secured the title of Best Speaker for the Motion, while Inika Mohile (Blue House) was adjudged Best Speaker Against the Motion, both making the Blue House shine bright.
With outstanding performances across both categories, Blue House was declared the Overall Champion, followed by Red House in second place, Green House in third, and Yellow House in fourth place.
The final scoreboard stood as follows:
- Blue House – 517 points
- Red House – 500 points
- Green House – 482 points
- Yellow House – 471 points
Towards the end, the students were blessed to receive the valuable feedback of our judges and their inspiring words which instilled in them a sense of motivation for their future endeavors.
The competition was a true testament to the debating spirit of the Patricians—where words became weapons, ideas became sparks, and intellect became the ultimate victor.
