SPORTS DAY (8TH NOVEMBER 2023)
In accordance with this saying our school ST. PATRICK’S JUNIOR COLLEGE held its 179th Annual Sports Meet on 8th November, 2023. The Chief Guest for the day was Sr. Pasha Misah, the Headmistress of St. Joseph’s Girls Inter College. The Sports Meet was declared open by our Principal Rev. Sr. Leena.
The event started with the March Past performed by the four houses of the school led by the Cabinet Members followed by the Torch Bearing Ceremony. The torch bearers were Shrinika Bhatia, who was the Best Athlete for the academic session 2022-23 in the Sub-Junior Category handed over to Gauri Kaushal, the Best Athlete for the Junior Category and further handed over to Samridhi Sharma, the Sports Captain of the College.
A number of sports events were held on the field which added fervour and enthusiasm to the event. Track events including relay race, hurdles and races by the young athletes rose the spirit of sportsmanship. Additional events – Tug of War (between the houses where Red House stood victorious) and Teachers’ race and Cabinet race maintained the spirit of the day.
Overall Champion was the Encounter House. Endeavour House was adjudged as the Best House for March Past. The Athlete for the session 2023-24 for Sub-Junior Category was Suryanshi Jain, in the Junior Category Alankrita Kumar bagged the price and Vriddhi Surana became the Best Athlete of the Senior Category. The Student of The Year 2023 was awarded to Samridhi Sharma of XII Science.
